Snowy Days - - - - Get Creative

Snow, Snow and More Snow.    We have a total of about 12" in 

our  small little town of Mountain View.  Days like these makes a perfect

time to get busy Creating or finishing things you already  have started. 

I have just finished 2 items that I had started for Valentine's Day.

   Valentine's Day is just around  the corner.  I love to Decorate for the seasons and holidays.  In blogging, I have found that the sites with pictures are the ones I seem to like the most.  They inspire me to be creative.   Valentine's Day the holiday for love and romance.  I have been married to my wonderful husband for 30 years.

This is something I made using vintage linens.  I hand appliqued a wool heart and then adorned it
with silk ribbon embroidery, heart and key.

Road Trip This Week

My daughter and I will be taking a road trip this week, so I'll not have any posts till the end of the week. I promise to take lots of pics. We are leaving tomorrow and we are going to Rochester, IN home of Ann of GreenOak, (Magpie Cottage). I can hardly wait. We are going to junk in Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. It's a girls week. Hope all of you have a great week.

A Passion for Decorating

Decorating is a passion of mine. I love to rearrange things in my home. I change things around for every season. (Halloween is my favorite, you'll have to wait until October).

Don't ever be afraid to reach out and try something new. I am posting some pictures of bookshelves in my library. They are piled up, just like you threw stuff on the shelf for 50 years. People often ask me how do you dust that? Answer, you don't its suppose to look like its been there forever, dust and all.
One thing you what to make sure to do is always add one thing or two that just doesn't really go with anything else on that shelf. This makes the eye notice all the other things.
As you will notice there are lots of pharmacy and soda fountain things on these shelves. That's because my husband is a pharmacist and we have a soda fountain in our pharmacy. If you are ever in our little town (Mountain View) stop in and see us.

Happy Birthday to my Best Friend

Today is my best friend's birthday. We have been friends for years. Her and her husband lived in Mountain View when we moved here in 1982. Our husbands starting fishing together and then we soon became friends. The moved away in about 1984? Although there are and have been many miles between us we have remained very good friends. Our hope is someday they will move back. She is someone that I can always count on. Last year she came and stayed 2 weeks helping me prepare for my daughters wedding. (Lots of hard work and sweat, it was an outside wedding at my home.) What a friend! She has always been there to listen and advise me. We are alot alike, sometimes we buy the exact same things without even knowing it.
So today I celebrate her friendship and her birthday by dedicating my blog to her.
